Armando Pugliese from Prometeus Guitars in Italy has kindly agreed to donate the proceeds from the auction of a fretless bass guitar to Mick's appeal.

*** The auction is for the guitar pictured OR a custom made bass to your own specifications!***

Fretless bass

Beautiful, isn't it!? This is really something special.

The bass pictured is Armando's own - the winner of the auction can discuss an exact spec to suit. It can be made with any scale length, number of frets (or fretless) and you can also choose the body shape and woods from a pretty wide selection. Even the pickups type and configuration can be specified (AlNiCo, Neodimium, Ferrite - all available in single or humbucker configuration).

Alternatively, Armando will be happy to sell you the bass guitar in these pictures, which he lovingly made for himself so you know it's top notch!

Here's the tech specs - it's a 30" scale fretless "Stratos" Bass - American Cherry neck, Bubinga unlined fingerboard and controls cover, Okoumè body. 24 "frets", AlNiCo5 Firekeeper humbucker with volume and tone controls. Chrome hardware. It also has had a new pickup fitted since this picture was taken.

If you would like to own this magnificent instrument please email Paul Rymer with your bid - the winner will be notified by email and put in contact with Armando to make shipping and payment arrangements.

Please bear in mind this is a serious instrument and is worth a high three figure sum.

UPDATE - if the winner agrees, they will be featured receiving the bass in the UK "Bass Guitar Magazine", who are supporting the Mick Karn Appeal.

Auction ends Friday 25th June.
